The term “flashpacking” is used to describe the type of backpacker that is commonly found in higher end hostels around the world. Flashpackers tend to enjoy the atmosphere of a hostel, but enjoy some of the comforts more commonly found in hotels. Flashpackers are often interested in WiFi access, security and a warm shower.

While I could stay in a cheap hotel, I often prefer the atmosphere of a hostel, especially if I’m traveling alone.
